Today you can find so many different celebrity chefs who are all about the finer ways of dining and developing better and more effective ways to cook different meals. Taking the old and adding the new is a positive way of developing new tastes which can also be a great way to find different dishes all together. Chefs like Emeril Lagasse are trying new things in order to help out the chef’s of the future. A celebrity chef as well as published writer, restaurant owner and TV personality there is nothing that Emeril can’t do with food to make it into a real delight to eat. The best chefs can take the most tasteless food and mix them with just about anything in the cupboard to make something that is special and even completely unique. This is the specialty of Emeril Lagasse who makes ridicules amounts of money helping people to prepare their next meals.

Health is often an issue with some people when they are thinking about cooking diner which is something that every chef should cater for. In one of his several books you will see that Emeril goes into detail on healthy eating manners which are good advice if you like to keep trim. With over a dozen great books with recipes in them you can do all the fabulous cooking that you see on TV and make the same meals that the experts are making. Emeril would agree that in every person there is a little chef trying to get out even if that chef is not a very good one. With practice and patients you can make a reasonable meal even if the greats of the celebrity chef world can make it twice as nice. After all this is what they are paid a lot of money to do.

In TV today we are starting to see a lot of reality TV programs like wife swap, police and customs shows, beach rescue TV programs, survivor island type programs, celebrity love shows as well as bachelor and matchmaking TV. There are shows about building a house in the country as well as buying the perfect home or just renovating yours. These TV shows are at least a little bit helpful to the people watching them rather than just being a cheap laugh. Another great line of TV programs that have come about recently are the cooking programs which have celebrity chefs like Gordon Ramsey, Jamie Oliver and so many others. Emeril Lagasse is another one of these well known celebrity chefs who turn out to be very common house hold names that everyday people can relate too. Emeril is not only a world class chef but is also a restaurant owner, author and TV host.

The Food Network Show as well as Emeril Live is two very popular programs on the cable TV networks as well as many other TV networks around the world. It was his BAM catch phrase that started his revolution and began the almost cult following of his cooking shows and food handling techniques. Emeril’s collection of restaurants, media and other working projects nets him around US$150 million each year in revenue. This is not too bad for somebody you originally did a trade skill however if Tim the Toolman Taylor could do it with a fake cable TV show then why can’t chefs do it too. There have already been shows about plumbing and building so why not cooking which is useful to so many more people who are watching. Emeril has a reputation of being one of the best chefs in the business along with many of the other celebrity chefs.

Emeril John Lagasse was born on October 15th 1959 in Fall River Massachusetts. His dad was a French Canadian named Emeril Jr. his mum is Portuguese named Hilda. As with all of us the food we eat as we are growing up influences us throughout our lives. Emeril began working in a local Portuguese bakery as a teenager. While at the bakery Emeril developed a love of cooking. He attended Diman Vocational High School and took the culinary arts program. Emeril led the high school drum band. They played at dances, celebrations and local religious festivals. He was so good at drumming that Emeril was offered a scholarship to the New England Conservatory of Music on graduating high school. He decided instead to go with a career as a professional chef.

For the next year he attended the Johnson & Wales University in Providence, Rhode Island. He took a job in a local restaurant to pay his tuition. He met a fellow student, Elizabeth Kief, while here and the two fell in love and married in 1978. A few months later Emeril completed his course graduating in 1978, he was later awarded an honorary doctorate by the Johnson & Wales University. He was able to experience working in Paris and Lyon in France. He then returned to the United States of America. He spent many years working in fine restaurants; one in particular was the Telemark Lodge in Cable, Wisconsin. In 1982 he worked for the Commanders Palace. He worked eighteen hour days putting a great strain on his health and marriage. He left the Commanders Palace and opened his own restaurant, Emerils in New Orleans in 1990.

With all the cooking programs that are on today with the celebrity chefs, the host cooking chefs and many other guests there is no doubt that you will know the name Emeril Lagasse. He is one of the more famous chef’s of the world who has had enough experience to be the judge of very fine quizine as well as being a master chef for his own restaurants. He is now known as a very successful television personality because of the amount of food and cooking shows that he has appeared on. One of the TV shows that Emeril Lagasse is known for is the show called Food Networks which is a great way to learn about foods of all kinds, how to prepare them and also how to cook them.

It was his New Orleans restaurant that he opened first in Louisiana which started his transformation to fame. This restaurant was known by all the food critics as one of the best in the country because the master chef has a specific plan in mind. Lucky for the people that were working under Lagasse who also got claim to his fame just by being one of the best support groups of the cooking industry. It was placed in the magazines as restaurant of the year and won a number of other small local prizes plus fame around the country. It was not the restaurant that makes Lagasse famous but it was his style of running the place and making sure that every meal was on time and satisfactory.

Lagasse first appeared on the TV show Great Chefs where he did a great job of showing what was available around the country in ways of pleasant places to eat. This series did not last for very long however it was at least 10 episodes long by all accounts which was not bad for one of the pioneer cooking TV reality shows. There was more to Emeril Lagasse which we found out in later years as his TV celebrity status continued to grow. On screen you will find that Lagasse is a hospitable personality however it takes a man of steel to get into the right frame of mind to look after a chain of restaurants.

Emeril Lagasse is a famous chef that has appeared on several cooking shows and chef challenge show such as the ones that Gordon Ramsey does. He is a master in the kitchen, with foods of all kinds and just like any professional chef he is also a master with the knives. At fifty years old he is one of the world’s masters with not only his own designs and masterpieces but also a master at cooking the classics. He has been a man that has been able to pass on a lot of excellent tips for his viewers over the years he has been a champion chef and hopefully he will be around for a lot longer so that he can show us what else he can do in the kitchen.

You can download the TV series online to see his masterful cooking while he teaches the audience what he is doing and why. By telling us why then he is passing down generations of knowledge as to why people cook certain ways and prepare foods in other ways. The shows are about twenty minutes long and you can cook alongside him so that you keep up with his work, as long as at the end of the session you can pull something out of the oven and say ‘this is the one I prepared earlier.’

Emeril Lagasse was born of a French-Canadian father and a Portuguese mother in Fall River, Massachusetts in 1959. He developed an interest for cooking while working at a local bakery at his teenage years. He subsequently enrolled for cooking classes at the Diman Vocational High School. Emeril had a few more talents including being a well accomplished percussionist; he played at dances and local religious occasions. Upon graduation, Lagesse had an offer for a scholarship at the New England Conservatory of Music, this he declined in the interests of following his passion as a professional chef. He therefore chose to proceed to the Johnson and Wales University at providence and took up a job at the local restaurant in order to cover his tuition. He and Elizabeth Kief met at the college and were married in the October of 1978. His culinary skills were polished in France, in the cities of Lyon and Paris. He returned to the US to work in fine restaurants across the Northeast.

As the Commander’s Palace executive chef, Lagasse won a lot of support and was loved by gourmet enthusiasts. In 1990, right after he’d left the Commander’s Palace, he opened up Emeril’s (his own restaurant), this was in New Orleans in the state of Louisiana. The eatery won “Restaurant of the Year” in the magazine, Esquire. Lagasse humors his clientele by the enthusiasm with which he makes Creole dishes as well as his Cajun cooking styles. Presently, Lagasse has in his property, ten restaurants across America. The establishment’s restaurant at Atlanta was closed in 2008.
His appearance on Great Chefs was the first attempt at broadcasting any of his endeavors in the media. He appeared for quite a few episodes and proceeded to host his own show after appearances in another cook program, FoodTV.
