In the world of cooking, everyone is talking about Emeril Lagasse. This celebrity chef is one of the greatest specialists in the field and he is now renown all around the world. Who is Emeril Lagasse, though? Well, Emeril Lagasse was born on October 15, 1959, in Fall River, Massachusetts, to a Canadian father and a Portuguese mother. He discovered his talent for cooking at an early age. By the time he was a teenager, he was already working in a Portuguese bakery. Then, Emeril Lagasse enrolled in a culinary arts program. Cooking was not his only talent, though.
It was his talent as a percussionist that got Emeril Lagasse a scholarship to the New England Conservatory of Music. However, he could not ignore his first passion, so he opted for Johnson & Wales University, in the hope of fulfilling his dream to become a chef. Because his financial situation was not extraordinary, Emeril Lagasse worked at the restaurant Venus De Milo in order to pay for school. While working there, Emeril Lagasse met his first wife, Elizabeth Kief. At graduation, in 1978, Emeril Lagasse was awarded with a honorary doctorate. 1982 was the year when Emeril Lagasse got his first job as an executive chef, at Commander’s Palace. Both his professional and personal life were starting to blossom. His wife, Elizabeth, gave birth to two beautiful daughters: Jessica and Jillian. Unfortunately, the couple divorced shortly. Emeril Lagasse remarried to the fashion designer Tari Hohn, but he did not have any luck in that marriage, either.
Then, Emeril Lagasse married the real estate broker Alden Lovelace, in 2000, and had a son and a daughter: Emeril John and Meril. Regarding his career, Emeril Lagasse became famous when he first appeared on television, on the show Great Chefs and other food TV programs. Finally, Emeril Lagasse got to host his own TV show, The Essence of Emeril. He is currently hosting a new daily series, Emeril Green. Emeril Lagasse also wrote numerous books and has a chain of restaurants all across the country. This celebrity chef is clearly one of the best cooks of his generation and he is a true inspiration to all of us.
